Guided Learning:

freeCodeCamp

I have been a member of free code camp since 2016 and have used it to learn HTML, Java and Python. This is a great website for getting introduced to coding. It uses an interactive interface so the user puts each concept into practice at the time of teaching.

HTB Academy

Hack The Box Academy is another platform I use. HTB is geared toward network security enthusiasts and therefor their Python module is a bit different from freeCodeCamp. My favorite feature of HTB is its built in Linux workstation. For those who don’t have the ability to set up a Linux computer or VM this is a perfect way to get some experience in a Linux machine with no cost. Of course you don’t have to use the built in work station so if you would rather use a VM you set up or a dedicated Linux computer you can still do so. There is even the HTB Parrot image available to set up a machine similar to the workstation found on the website.

Skills for All with Cisco

Cisco has been a leader in network equipment and software for a long time. Skills for all is the Cisco Networking Academy. This is a free place to learn many different things from Python coding to network architecture and security. This is one website I highly recommend being a member of because doing so provides free access to Packet Tracer. Packet Tracer is a program that allows the user to build and configure networks in a virtual environment using virtual cisco equipment.
